I discovered the Oregon PE830 with pc download, and boy is it good. Check out the excellent features below.
- PC download via USB cable
- Stores all readings for up to 7 days
- Measures: calories, steps, distance
- Stop watch
- Target finish time estimator
- Keypad lock
- Low battery indicator
It really does have some good features, but the best feature for me was the pc download capability. I tested this feature out the first day I got it and it is fantastic. Once I got a few readings on there I hooked it up to the pc with the USB cable and low and behold all my information was downloaded in no time at all. This is great, as if you lose your pedometer at least you would have your details and readings all stored in a safe place. I am able to chart my progress using a grid and see what needs improving all on my computer screen. It makes it so much easier to focus your goals and make a regime for yourself.
Apart from the amazing pc download feature I found the step counter to be really good as well. As I said I have used a few pedometers in my time and some of them give horrendous results. This one however is very accurate especially when tested over a period of time. It came back time and time again with near enough the same results. I have never paid too much attention to calories burned but since I got this I have started to notice that each time I jog I am pushing myself harder, therefore burning more calories over the same distance. The calorie counter is an indicator of what you need to do to improve. I realized that I needed to slow down a bit and stop pushing myself too hard. So as well as alerting you to the fact that you might need to work harder, it also alerts you to the fact that you could possibly do with slowing down a bit.
I would normally have something negative to say but in all honesty I don’t have anything to say against this scientific pedometer, it ticks all the boxes for me. Actually one thing I might add, would be that the screen could be a little bit clearer. This is a negative point but, the fact that it comes with a pc download feature eliminates this downside. Reason being you get a chance to see the results on a large computer screen.
As this item is so easy to use, I would recommend it to anyone men and women and possibly young and old. However I think that people who love technology would really like this as well.
I got mine from a sport store nearby but it can be purchased from Amazon and other online sport stores, the price ranges from $30 and upwards.Popular tags: oregon pedometer
